At RH Marine, we realise the system integration of electrical and automation systems on board naval vessels, submarines and superyachts. A complex but fascinating field of work full of innovations. To expand the engineering department Yachts (now over 50 FTE), we are looking for an Engineer Electrical Power Systems at our head office in Schiedam. You will report directly to the Manager Engineering Yachts.

Function

As an Engineer Electrical Power Systems, you will be responsible for power distribution up to approximately 2500 KW on board luxury yachts. You design LV power distributors, emergency switchboards and lighting distributions based on specifications and discussions with internal and external stakeholders. You take care of the basic design and functional specification of this power plant, applying synchronising devices, load sharing devices, protection devices, transformers, UPS systems, voltage & cos phi regulators, etc. in your designs. You are also responsible for performing AC&DC short-circuit calculations, arc flash calculations, load calculations, cable calculations and strength calculations. Your designs comply with EMC standards, classification societies and applicable standards and regulations. Your daily tasks therefore include:

  • Independently designing the power plant;
  • Supporting designs with various calculations;
  • Ensuring review by inspection bodies such as Lloyd’s and GL/DNV.

Requirements

For the role of Engineer Electrical Power Systems, we are looking for an experienced, independently working, engineer who enjoys and is experienced in designing large complex electrical power systems. Work experience in engineering marine installations is a plus, affinity with the maritime world and yachts is a must. You work in a structured and precise manner and can work both independently and in a team. Furthermore, we ask:

  • HBO working and thinking level;
  • Experience in working with Eplan P8 and SKM Powertools etc.;
  • Good communication, both written and verbal in Dutch and/or English.

  • A salary between €2921 and €5830 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience;
