At RH Marine, we realise the system integration of electrical and automation systems on board naval vessels, submarines and superyachts. A complex but fascinating field of work full of innovations. Every ship is custom-made for the customer and after christening we remain responsible for maintenance and upgrades. So it remains ‘our baby’ throughout the life cycle.

Due to growth, we are looking for a Tactical Strategic Project Buyer for the Purchasing department in Schiedam. This is a position for 32-40 hours per week. Within RH Marine, the procurement department acts as a project partner to purchase or have produced the innovative solutions for our customers on a project basis.

Function

As a Tactical Strategic Project Buyer, you will translate organisational and project needs into procurement specifications and ensure solid, business, legal and logistical assurance of our interests in procurement specifications and contracts. For this position, we are looking for a candidate with international contracting experience to realise and secure the desire to contract out various matters. In addition to these strategic tasks, as tactical buyer you will represent RH Marine to (key) suppliers on a tactical level and ensure that you build and optimise a valuable and reliable network. You will visit customers and suppliers when necessary. In this position, you work closely with your direct colleagues from the procurement department and you are a member of the procurement team, which consists of operational and tactical buyers. Your (market) knowledge and experience make you a valuable discussion partner for the organisation in its strategic ambitions to further professionalise and specialise.

Requirements

For the position of Tactical Strategic Project Buyer, we are looking for a communicative person with good empathy. You are commercially strong, a real team player and have excellent negotiation skills. You have demonstrable experience in (international) outsourcing projects. You know and take responsibility and have the power of persuasion. You closely follow developments in the market and have an affinity with the technological challenges ahead, such as: far-reaching Automation (including IT and Cyber security) and Power / Hybrid generation and propulsion. Ideally, you have a network or work experience in the mega yacht, marine segment. In addition, you possess:

  • HBO degree, preferably completed with Nevi 1 and 2;
  • several years of purchasing experience in a complex and technically oriented (project) organisation;
  • demonstrable experience with technical challenges; Automation (also IT and Cyber) & Power / Hybrid;
  • experience with ERP systems; Navision experience is an advantage;
  • willingness to travel (internationally)
  • good communication skills, both written and oral in Dutch and English.

  • A salary between € 4,150 and € 6145 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience;
  • 8% holiday pay;
