Autonomous navigation systems
Automation technologies and autonomous navigation systems are increasingly common in the maritime industry. These developments are driven by the core requirement to ensure safe and efficient operation and navigation of ships. Besides avoiding groundings and enabling stable navigation through rough weather conditions on the high seas, collision avoidance is the most important task for autonomous navigation systems.
Efficient and safe navigation
RH Marine's Rhodium CAS4500 system is a navigator's modern obstacle avoidance tool. The Collision Avoidance System monitors around the vessel based on direction and speed and proactively advises on necessary course changes to avoid collisions.
Combined with the route pilot, you easily accept the advice to pass objects at a safe distance and continue your route in the most efficient manner.
Test case
In close collaboration with Damen Naval, as part of the FieldLab Autonomous Sailing Technology (F.A.S.T.) project, we have successfully implemented and tested our CAS. This video shows one of the test cases.
