COMMIT and RH Marine signed on 16 July the contract for the Midlife Update (MLU) of the OPVs, four patrol vessels of the Royal Netherlands Navy equipped to operate in coastal waters, for example in the Netherlands and the Caribbean.
RH Marine contributed to a high level of automation in the construction of these ships, allowing the vessel to operate with a greatly reduced crew. During this MLU, RH Marine will replace navigation radars, meteorological equipment, bridge and platform automation software, among others, over the next few years. In this way, the ships will once again meet current requirements and be deployable for their important tasks for years to come, anywhere in the world.
