Combination experience with customer functional requirements

Proper management of power generation, distribution, conversion and control is essential for a vessel to operate reliably and efficiently under all conditions. 

RH Marine combines decades of experience with our customers' functional requirements. Together, we design the optimal power grid for each operational mode. This design consists of a customised power plant and the most suitable form of distribution, either AC, DC or a combination. 

With every order, RH Marine is constantly looking for the optimal combination between power generation and consumption, based on one or more operational objectives of the ship in question. The ultimate aim is to do this with a zero-emission solution. We want to achieve this through clean propulsion and clean energy generation, among other things.

Switchboard

For proper power generation design, a solid switchboard is essential. RH Marine combines the knowledge of factors such as load flow, short-circuit, total harmonic distortion and arc calculations to arrive at a switchboard configuration that suits the specific operational requirements.

Distribution

Providing all ship equipment with the right power requires integral design. Broad experience with selectivity studies, earthing philosophies and the other characteristics of a power grid, RH Marine ensures optimal power management across the ship.

Conversion

The various generation sources and customers, each with their own power requirements, require proper specification of inverters and other components. 

Starting from a proven basic design, RH Marine provides the right parameter definitions and specifications for a set-up where the power conversion is optimised to the many users.
