Bakker Sliedrecht and RH Marine partner up to boost scale and innovation

Leading maritime system integrators of electrical and automation systems Bakker Sliedrecht and RH Marine have partnered up. By joining forces, both companies can benefit from scaling-up and knowledge exchange and give a boost to innovation, such as ship automation, hybrid energy and cybersecurity.

Both companies have traditionally been positioning themselves as independent system integrators of complex electrical and automation systems in the maritime industry. RH Marine was founded in 1860 and has an extensive track record in defence, safety & security ships and megayachts worldwide. Bakker Sliedrecht will celebrate its centenary in 2019 and has a strong market position in the dredging and offshore market. Together, the companies employ over 700 experts.

By collaborating the best of both worlds will be combined, which enables both companies to serve the global maritime industry even more efficiently by offering cross-market innovation, reliable system independent solutions and a unique set of specialized capabilities.

,,It’s a cooperation and not a merger,” emphasizes managing director Hugo Loudon of Bakker Sliedrecht and RH Marine. ,,The corporate culture of both companies matches well. Both rely on a rich history and a wealth of experience. The partnership between the two companies already shows concrete results. For example, Bakker Sliedrecht supported at the workshop of RH Marine and RH Marine’s experts were deployed in offshore projects of Bakker Sliedrecht.

At the world’s largest marine exhibition, SMM Hamburg (4-7 Sept), Bakker Sliedrecht and RH Marine will have their first joint presentation (hall B7, stand 510). On the stand the latest innovations in autonomous sailing, hybrid solutions and IT security will be presented.
